In a new development, Azad Kashmir Assembly demands Security Council meeting against India in Occupied Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD – The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly onThursday demanded to call the Security Council meeting against Indianaggression on Line of Control.

The assembly while condemning firing incidents and targeting of civilianpopulation by Indian army has demanded United Nations to take diplomaticand military steps to save the region’s peace.

AJK Legislative Assembly has termed Indian aggression as a threat toregion’s peace.

“BJP’s government is promoting Indian extremism to gain political andelectoral benefits,” the members maintained.

The assmebly has also called for ending Shimla agreement in response toIndia’s rejection to held talks on the offer of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

AJK Assembly was informed that environmental fallout of the Neelum JehlumHydro-power Project has been taken up with the federal government.

Responding to a call attention notice raised by Opposition Leader, Ministerfor Higher Education Barrister Iftikhar Ahmed Gillani said the federalgovernment will hopefully settle the issue.

He said WAPDA in consultation with the federal government will addressenvironmental problems of Neelum Jehlum Hydro-power Project.

The House approved AJK President’s Pension (Amendment) Ordinance 2018 andoffered fateha for the martyrs of Indian firing at Line of Control.
