Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday that unfortunate rise in violent incidents on both sides of Pak-Afghan border is meant to derail Afghanistan Peace Process.

The ISPR in a statement said, “Pakistan earnestly believes that both countries deserve peace and progress”.

It further vowed that both countries will together defeat all spoilers.

Hopes for restoration of peace in the neighbouring country brightened after the Afghan government and Taliban completed the process of prisoners release.

Under the US-backed deal, both sides are set to engage in the peace talks to find a way out of the war.

The process of peace talks were supposed to begin in March but were frequently delayed over a prisoner swap that included the release of hundreds of Taliban.

On Thursday, Vice President of Afghanistan, Amrullah Saleh escaped a bomb blast in Kabul.
