On Monday, the Kremlin responded to the movement of a U.S. carrier strike group moving closer to Israel, expressing concern about a "high risk" of external parties becoming involved in the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential spokesman, emphasized the importance of initiating negotiations promptly to de-escalate tensions and avoid resorting to military solutions. Peskov noted the complex web of interests in the Middle East and the need to balance the rights of nations with their security.

He also remarked that the situation in Israel appeared to be heading toward further escalation. These remarks followed U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's announcement that the Ford carrier strike group would be deployed closer to the Eastern Mediterranean to enhance regional deterrence efforts.

This group comprises the advanced USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and various missile cruisers and destroyers. Additionally, the Pentagon is reinforcing U.S. Air Force fighter aircraft squadrons in the region, maintaining other responsive forces worldwide to support the Eastern Mediterranean as required.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas entered its third day on Monday, resulting in a rising death toll of at least 900 individuals, including soldiers and civilians from both sides.
