Rawalpindi: Central Punjab pacer Naseem Shah has been withdrawn from the National T20 Cup after complaining of a niggle in the groin.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to withdrawn Naseem as they think he should be handled with care. He has been replaced by left-arm fast bowler Waqas Maqsood in the Central Punjab squad.
The 32-year-old Waqas was one of the leading wicket-takers for Central Punjab in the Second XI tournament played in Lahore. He took eight wickets at an average of 15.75.
Naseem will now report at the National High-Performance Centre in Lahore where the PCB medical panel will carry out a detailed and complete investigation on his injury.
