Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to be removed from the captaincy of Pakistan cricket team

ISLAMABAD - Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to be removed from the captaincy as a resolution has been moved against him.

A resolution to remove the struggling Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been proposed in the Punjab Assembly on Thursday after the Men in Green’s recent whitewash in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The resolution was filed by Muslim League (N) member Malik Zaheer Iqbal. The resolution stated that the recent defeat at the hands of the eighth-ranked Sri Lanka side was a matter of grave anger and sadness for the people of Pakistan.

“This house would like to convey its regret and anger at the recent whitewash of the Pakistan cricket team at the hands of Sri Lanka. The number-one ranked T20 team has lost against the number-eight ranked T20 side.

The young players of the Sri Lankan team managed to win all matches with ease. The people of Pakistan are both sad and angry by this defeat,” the resolution stated.
