Following the introduction of an enhanced search option for the web client, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is now rolling out a new text formatting tool to enhance messaging capabilities for desktop users, as reported by WABetaInfo.
These tools empower users to format text, customize message appearance, and layout. According to the WhatsApp news tracker, the update will be initially accessible to beta testers before reaching a wider user base.
Having undergone successful testing with a select group, WhatsApp is now widely releasing the ability to apply diverse formatting styles to text messages.
The new tools include Code Blocks, Quote Blocks, and Lists, offering users a range of options to format their messages on desktop. Code Block facilitates sharing code within WhatsApp, Quote Block aids in responding to specific message parts, and Lists allow clear organization of information.
This addition is considered a significant improvement in user experience, providing a professional touch to messages, particularly beneficial for conveying technical or detailed information.
Initially launched for iOS, the feature will soon extend to Android users after gaining popularity on the desktop version.
