*ISLAMABAD: Minister of Statistics Kamran Michael is in hot waters for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.*
A probe has been initiated by NAB against the minister for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Sources said the minister allegedly accumulated assets during his stint as Minister for Ports and Shipping and bureau’s Karachi and Lahore offices have begun gathering evidences in this regard.
Michael held the portfolio of Minister for Ports and Shipping from 2013 to 2016.
It is pertinent to mention here that NAB had earlier filed a reference against former finance minster Ishaq Dar levelling similar charges against him.
Dar has been declared proclaimed offender over his perpetual absence from the trial proceedings conducted by an accountability court against him for allegedly for amassing wealth.
