Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy warm relations based on the religion, cultural harmony and history.
According to the details, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov in Islamabad today.
In the meeting, both dignitaries agreed promote bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, including trade and investment.
Both Foreign Ministers held discussion on the matters of mutual interest, and regional issues as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan have been maintaining close connection to improve regional connectivity particularly for early materialization of the trans-Afghan railways project among Pakistan, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan commended Pakistan’s efforts for promotion of contacts and establishment of peace in the region. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also hosted a luncheon in the honor of his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov and his delegation at the Minister for Foreign Affairs in the federal capital.
Moreover, the Federal Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati, Adviser on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, Federal Secretary for Maritime Affairs Rizwan Ahmed and senior officers of the Minister for Foreign Affairs were also present on the occasion.
