Boxer Muhammad Ali funeral prayer attended by thousands

ISLAMABAD: Legendry boxer and civil right activist Muhammad Ali funeral prayer has been offered here at Louisville, Kentucky and laid to rest today in his hometown.

As per details, thousands of people participated in Muhammad Ali funeral prayer and paid him rich tribute. Three-times heavyweight champion suffered from respiratory ailment and he died on June 4 at the age of 74 years.

Muhammad Ali was also known as political activist and devotion to humanitarian causes while he battled in the ring but sought peace outside it. Muslim clerics and scholars across the United States attended Muhammad Ali funeral prayer and paid him homage.

Northern California University Islamic Scholar Sherman Jackson said that Muhammad Ali fought battle for the rights of black Americans. National flag is at half-mast in Kentucky State today.

US President will not be able to participate in Muhammad Ali burial but Turkish President Tayyab Erdagon and Shah Abdullah from Jordan were expected to participate in his burial.
