ISLAMABAD - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has received 54,344 complaints and apprehended 561 suspects, besides depositing Rs 3,919.011 million recovered from the corrupt in the national kitty during last 13 months.
According to NAB data for 13 months, the Bureau had approved conducting verification of 2,125, inquiries of 1,059 complaints and investigations of 302 complaints, besides filing 590 references in various accountability courts, which were at different stages of hearing right now.
NAB's ratio of punishment remained 70.8 percent during 2018, which was far better than all institutes working to eradicate corruption, the data revealed.
Right now 1,280 references involving Rs 900 billion corruption are being heard by various accountability courts.
Last year, NAB recovered over Rs 01 billion from different housing societies and returned to the affectees.
