HYDERABAD (APP): DIG Police Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind on Tuesday said the three suspected bank robbers, who were shot dead in a police encounter after a dacoity on July 22, had links with the perpetrators of Quetta attacks.
The phone call records of the slain suspects showed that they were assigned to target Hindu, Shia and other vulnerable communities through robberies and extortion, the DIG said addressing the launching ceremony of ABAD 15 Madadgar Helpline.
"They used to send the looted money and snatched mobile phones to Quetta," he claimed.
He said the terrorists had even planned to attack Hyderabad police.
"The police continue to be a target of the terrorists," he added.
Talking about the helpline, an initiative of non-governmental organization (NGO) ABAD aimed at helping women victims of violence, the DIG assured that the police would extend full cooperation.
The helpline has been set up in the premises of 15 Police's office in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Abad's Executive Rafia Bangash said the helpline would provide legal aid, counseling and referral services to the women.
