ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka 1st test match likely to hit with asetback.
Rain with wind and thunderstorms is predicted in the country from Wednesdayto Friday, which may affect the first test match between Pakistan and SriLanka.
Pakistan will stage its first home Test in a decade on Wednesday when theytake on the Islanders in Rawalpindi. This is the first international Testmatch since the 2009 attack on Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore.
However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain inthe city from Thursday to Saturday, meaning that the second, third andfourth day of the Test is likely to be affected by rain.
A westerly wave located over Iran, and its adjoining areas, is likely toapproach western parts of the country on Wednesday and is expected to gripmost parts of the country on Thursday.
Scattered rain-thunderstorm with snowfall is expected in upper districts ofBalochistan on Wednesday and Thursday. Light to moderate rain-thunderstormis also expected in Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi)from Wednesday (night) to Thursday.
Widespread rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over hills) is expected in mostdistricts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Islamabad from Wednesday(night) to Friday. Isolated heavy falls are also expected in districts ofDir, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sialkot,Gujranwala, Narowal and Islamabad on Thursday.
Widespread rain with snowfall over the hills is also expected in Kashmir,while at scattered places in Gilgit Baltistan from Wednesday to Friday.
