TEHRAN – Iran’s domestically-made Fateh submarine will be dispatched formissions to the Sea of Oman as it is going to join the Iranian Navy in thenear future, according to Deputy Navy Commander for Coordination RearAdmiral Hamzeh Ali Kaviani.
In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA)correspondent, Kaviani said that Fateh submarine is carrying out the finalstages of joining the Iranian naval fleet.
He expressed the hope that the submarine will join the Iranian Navy by theyearend.
Fateh is the first home-made semi-heavy submarine of the country, theofficial said.
Asked to comment on the missile launching capability of the submarine, hesaid that some measures have been carried out in this regard which will bepublicized soon.
He said that all the technologies installed on this highly advancedsubmarine are domestically-made and indigenous. – IRNA
