The US dollar suffered a fresh loss of 23 paisas in the interbank businesson Thursday.
According to the forex dealers, the greenback started the day defensivelyas it was slumped by 40 paisas but later it recovered some value and endedthe day at Rs221.42, down from Rs221.65.

On the last trading day which was Tuesday as Wednesday was a publicholiday, the US dollar closed at Rs221.65 after losing just one paisa invalue.
