SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, for the first time in history, the Indianauthorities disallowed the congregational gathering at the Hazratbal shrinein Srinagar on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un Nabi (SAW).
A security official told media that a plan had been devised to ensure nocrowd or gathering takes place at Hazratbal shrine on Eid e Milad andadditional security deployment will be put in place across Srinagarincluding Hazratbal and its adjoining areas.
Locals say the decision to ban prayers at the shrine has hurt the religioussentiments of people of Kashmir, who have emotional and spiritualattachment with the shrine as it houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad(SAW).
