Disgruntled Ishaq Dar rejects Supreme Court orders

ISLAMABAD – Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ishaq Darhas responded over the Supreme Court orders in Attaull Huq Qasmiappointment case.

He has rejected the Supreme Court order of paying penalty amount imposed onhim in a case pertaining to the appointment of Attaul Haq Qasmi as chairmanof PTV.

Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court (SC) declared the appointment andmonetary benefits bestowed upon the renowned Attaul Haq Qasmi as illegal.Holding the then information minister Pervaiz Rashid, Former financeminister Ishaq Dar and former principal secretary Fawad Hassan Fawadresponsible for the illegal appointment, the apex court had ordered them topay against the losses incurred to the PTV.

The apex court estimated that PTV had suffered a loss of Rs197.867 millionand ordered that the sum be recovered from the guilty in the followingratio:

Qasmi: 50 per cent

Rashid: 20 per cent

Dar: 20 per cent

Fawad: 10 per cent

Dar declining any role in the appointment of Qasmi said: “I will not makeany kind of payment in this case”.
