Pakistan strongly reacts on Indian top office holder statement

On Monday, Pakistan strongly criticized the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradeshfor making highly irresponsible comments regarding the region around theIndus River in Southern Pakistan, as reported by ARY News and quoted by theMinistry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch expressed condemnation, highlighting that the Chief Minister’s remarks at the National SindhiConvention in Lucknow, where he referenced reclaiming the region as akin tothe reclamation of ‘Ram Janmabhoomi,’ were particularly concerning.

She noted that history recalled the demolition of the historic Babri Mosquein 1992 by a Hindu supremacist mob and suggested that the Chief Minister’sstatements were influenced by the notion of ‘Akhand Bharat’ (undividedIndia).

These remarks, she emphasized, reflected a revisionist and expansionistmindset that aimed to suppress the identity and culture of neighboringcountries and religious minorities, while also distorting historicalperspectives.
