The Adiala jail superintendent informed a special court on Tuesday that theimprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former primeminister is not permitted to communicate with his sons.
Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman, was incarcerated on August 5 due to hisconviction in the Toshakhana case and subsequently transferred to AdialaJail in the cipher case.
During a hearing under the Official Secrets Act to grant PTI chairman theopportunity to speak with his sons from Adiala Jail, the jailer stated thatindividuals arrested under this act cannot engage in internationalcommunication.
Judge Abual Hasnat presided over the PTI’s plea and, following the jailer’sresponse, requested the Jail SOPs regarding prisoners’ telephoneconversations with relatives, adjourning the case until October 18.
Notably, Imran Khan is presently in Adiala Jail due to the cipher case,following a transfer from Attock Prison as ordered by the Islamabad HighCourt CJ. PTI Chief Imran Khan and Vice Chairman were charged forintentionally misplacing a diplomatic cipher copy.
