Rawalpindi: Central Punjab pacer Naseem Shah has been withdrawn from theNational T20 Cup after complaining of a niggle in the groin.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to withdrawn Naseem as they thinkhe should be handled with care. He has been replaced by left-arm fastbowler Waqas Maqsood in the Central Punjab squad.
The 32-year-old Waqas was one of the leading wicket-takers for CentralPunjab in the Second XI tournament played in Lahore. He took eight wicketsat an average of 15.75.
Naseem will now report at the National High-Performance Centre in Lahorewhere the PCB medical panel will carry out a detailed and completeinvestigation on his injury.
