Former PM Nawaz Sharif gets some sigh of relief from Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court on Thursday has approved miscellaneousplea of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif against his conviction in theAl-Azizia Steel Mills case following judge Arshad Malik’s video scandal.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin AkhtarKiyani heard the appeals.

According to details, the court has issued the detailed verdict over NawazSharif’s appeal.

The court has served notice to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) andother parties directing to submit reply in 14 days.

It is to be mentioned that the former PM had requested the court to reviewevidence linked to a controversial video and statement of judge ArshadMalik before deciding the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo’sappeal against his conviction in the Al Azizia case.
