Top Pakistani spinner announces retirement from international cricket

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman has made a big decisionover quitting the international cricket.

He has announced retirement from international cricket on Wednesday.

While talking to media, Rehman said that it’s a very hard decision for himto step down from international cricket.

“It’s a very heavy decision for me to retire from international cricket,”he laments, “I will now focus on domestic cricket only and will continueplaying for my club,” he said.

The Punjab born cricketer represented Pakistan in 22 Test, 31 ODI and 8T20I matches.

In his interview, the slow left-arm spinner said that he is really thankfulto the people who supported him during his career. He said former skipperMisbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi always supported him and he learned a lotfrom them.

Responding to a question, Rehman told that it’s been a memorable journeysince he made his debut to the international cricket and he feels so proudthat he played for Pakistan.
