ISLAMABAD – Minister of State for Interior, Shehryar Afridi saysdeliberations are underway to bring the persons wanted to law enforcementagencies back to the country from abroad.
Responding to a question in the Senate, he said Pakistan has extraditiontreaties with thirty-three countries while bilateral and multilateralrelations with countries will also be used to work out the method forarrest of wanted persons in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
The Minister said people sitting abroad after violating the law of landwill not be spared.
To a question regarding drug traffickers, Minister of State forParliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said Anti-Narcotics Force has beenacting against drug traffickers. He said the federal and provincialgovernments need to work in coordination to check drug trafficking.
The Minister stressed the need for establishing rehabilitation centers fordrug addicts saying a fresh survey about drug addicts should also beconducted.
Responding to a question about erstwhile FATA’s merger with KhyberPakhtunkhwa, Ali Muhammad Khan said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is verymuch ready for it. He said Levies Force willbe merged into police in thetribal districts.
