LAHORE – New developments have been reported in the case of transfer of IGPunjab.
Cabinet Division on Wednesday has demanded Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) to withdraw notification of suspending Punjab Inspector General’s(IG) transfer.
According to details, the Cabinet Division stated that the ban on transfersand replacements is only applicable in the constituencies holdingby-elections.
On Tuesday, ECP had cancelled the federal government’s notification toreplace Punjab police chief Tahir Khan with Amjad Javed Saleemi and soughtreply from Punjab Chief Secretary in this regard.

The decision came after Amjad Javed Saleemi, a BS-22 officer currentlyserving as Commandant in National Police Academy under Interior Division,was appointed as new Punjab Inspector General.
