World Bank report says South Asian growth has stalled after leading the global growth for over two years.

World Bank says the Pakistani economy is expected to consolidate its upward growth momentum if Islamabad manages to arrest fiscal deficits and ensure external stability.

In its biannual South Asia Economic Focus report, the bank said Pakistan will have to reverse the trade and the fiscal imbalances and ensure continuation of reforms program for sustainable growth.

The report said South Asian growth has stalled after leading the global growth for over two years.

It said India is on the forefront of the regional slowdown due to internal factors such as fall in private investment, increase in exports and government spending.
