ISLAMABAD – In a new development, Pakistan Foreign Minister has revealed that Pakistan has offered joint operation against Haqqani network in Pakistan if they find any hideouts.
Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has offered the United States a joint operation against the Haqqani Network.
“Islamabad has offered US authorities to visit Pakistan with details of the Haqqani Network’s safe havens in the country. If they found any activities in the targeted areas, our forces along with the US would destroy them once and for all,” Asif said in an interview with Javed Chaudhry in Express News show Kal Tak.
The foreign minister, who recently went to Washington on an official visit and met top Trump administration, went on to say that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was also offered the same option during the meeting with army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Kabul.
Referring to the US old mantra to ‘do more’ despite Pakistan’s great sacrifices on war against terrorism, Asif said: “If the US administration exerts more pressure on us, friend countries including China, Russia, Iran and Turkey will stand by our side.”
He further said: “If US foreign and defence secretary are coming to dictate us, we will refuse to accept them… and now we will do what is in the best interest of our country.”
