Governer Balochistan slams government policy

In QUETTA, Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar has expressedcriticism towards the government’s allocation of a substantial sum for theBenazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

He suggests that this funding should have been directed towards enhancingthe country’s educational system and sectors that generate employmentopportunities. During a seminar held to launch a ‘Strategy Plan’ onInternational Literacy Day, Kakar emphasized that education is paramountfor the development of both society and the nation.

He called on the government to allocate maximum resources and opportunitiesto promote education, aiming to propel Pakistan into a prosperous anddeveloped global entity.

The seminar was organized by the Social Welfare, Literacy, and Non-formalEducation Department, along with the Education Parliamentarians Caucus ofthe Senate. Various prominent figures, including Balochistan AssemblySpeaker Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, Interim Home Minister Mir ZubairJamali, Parliamentary Caucus of Senate Chairperson Senator Sana Jamali,Senator Fauzia Arshad, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Social Welfare andWomen Development Shania Khan, and others, also shared their insights atthe event.

Governor Kakar advocated for channeling these funds into the establishmentof institutions geared towards creating employment opportunities, ratherthan fostering dependency on charitable handouts of a few thousand rupees.
