Indian Army Chief General Upinder Dawar has acknowledged Pakistan’ssuccessful military strategy and admitted that if India takes theinitiative again, the situation could be different. He stated that Pakistanhas effectively presented its military success on the global stage, and theIndian Army will need to exercise greater caution.
New details have emerged from General Upinder Dawar’s speech, in which heopenly discussed Pakistan’s successful military strategy and the subsequentglobal public opinion shaping.
During the inauguration of the Indian Army’s research cell at IIT Madras,General Upinder Dawar said that India’s security is not solely theresponsibility of the military but a collective national effort involvingthe army, scientists, industry, educational institutions, and the public.
He further stated that victory in a war with Pakistan “happens in themind,” and Pakistan adopted an effective strategy to make its successpopular among its people.
Regarding this, General Dawar remarked, “In Pakistan, the army chief waseven promoted to Field Marshal after the war.”
This statement indicates that Dawar acknowledges Pakistan’s militarystrategy while expressing concern over it.
In his speech, General Dawar also emphasized the importance of cyberdefense measures and acknowledged that if India takes the initiative again,the situation could be different.
He clearly said, “If India attacks again, we do not know whether thecountry fighting Pakistan will be alone or will receive help from anothercountry.”
According to him, in such a scenario, India will need to be more cautiousbecause there is a possibility that Pakistan will not be alone.
General Dawar also mentioned Operation Sandor in his speech, referring tothe attacks carried out in May in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, which were aresponse to the Pulwama terrorist attack. These attacks highlighted theimportance of the information war using modern technology and media.
The Indian Army ran a systematic information campaign to spread thismessage globally, with two women officers holding press conferences and theoperation’s logo being designed at the local level.
