ISLAMABAD – Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his resolve tocomplete gas pipeline project with Islamic Republic of Iran, local mediareported on Tuesday.
According to reports, Prime Minister has issued fresh directives to theauthorities concerned to take appropriate steps to implement Iran-Pakistangas pipeline project.
The PM has also ordered the foreign ministry to resolve all issues withIran amicably through mutual understanding.
He said that Pakistan should also approach the Iranian government tore-negotiate price of the gas agreed in the IP agreement.
Prime Minister Imran Khan observed that sanctions on Iran are hampering theimplementation of the project.
He added that Pakistan desires to complete the IP project with Iran.
The reports say Pakistan has also decided to send demarches to the US,European Union and other international forums about the IP project.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Iran on April 21. During histwo-day trip, he held important meetings with Supreme Leader of the IslamicRevolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President HassanRouhani.
In their meeting, Prime Minister Khan and President Rouhani discussed theentire spectrum of bilateral relations, and the means to further bolsterand expand their relations in diverse fields, including IP project.
