QALA-I-NAW: Six Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel were killed in anairstrike in the Maqur district of northwestern Badghis province onWednesday, an official said.

A member of the provincial council, Farid Akhizi told Afghan media the ALPpersonnel came under mistaken airstrike in the Sanga Khair area of thedistrict at around 11am. He said warplanes, probably of foreign forces,mistakenly struck the ALP men in plainclothes. However, the NATO-led troopshave not yet commented on the incident.

Police spokesman Sarwar Dawari confirmed the air raid. He, however, wasunaware of details. He would not say who conducted the raid.
