BEIJING – Pakistan and China give a strong blow to opponents of CPEC in ajoint statement.
The Inaugural meeting of Pakistan-China Joint Working Group onInternational Cooperation and Coordination was held in Beijing on Tuesday.
The Pakistan side was led by Foreign Secretary, Tehmina Janjua while ViceForeign Minister Kong Xuanyou headed the Chinese side.
Both sides expressed satisfaction at the steady progress being made onvarious CPEC projects and reaffirmed their resolve to maintain thismomentum.
The two sides exchanged views and explored ways of developing jointproposals on international cooperation and coordination under CPEC.
They rejected attempts to direct self-serving criticism against CPEC andBRI. It was agreed to counter such moves through joint efforts at variouslevels and modes.
The Joint Working Group on International Cooperation was instituted duringthe 8th CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee meeting in November 2018.
The next meeting of the JWG-ICC will be held in Islamabad at a mutuallyconvenient date.
