SRINAGAR – In Occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) hascondemned the summoning of the Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooqby the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi inconnection with a false case against him.

The HCBA in its executive members’ meeting in Srinagar said, summoningMirwaiz is actually going to subject him to humiliation and intimidation,only because he is also spearheading the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle forright to self-determination.

The meeting said, by adopting such tactics India will not achieve anything,as this process is bound to further alienate the people of Kashmir.

The participants of the meeting also expressed serious concern over theslapping of draconian Public Safety Act on the JKLF Chairman, MuhammadYasin Malik and Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Spokesman, Advocate Zahid Ali andothers.

They urged the international community to play effective role in gettingthem freed unconditionally.
