NEW DELHI – India had finalised a mega contract with Boeing to procure 22Apache helicopters and 15 Chinooks for the Air Force.
American aerospace major Boeing on Sunday announced the arrival of thefirst batch of Chinook military helicopters for the Air Force at Mundraport in Gujarat.
A statement from the company said the CH47F (I) Chinooks will be ferried toChandigarh, where they will be formally inducted into the Air Force laterthis year.

It is also used for humanitarian and disaster relief operations and inmissions such as transportation of relief supplies and mass evacuation ofrefugees.[image: 80dr3p38]

“The CH-47F (I) Chinook is an advanced multi-mission helicopter that willprovide the Indian armed forces with unmatched strategic airlift capabilityacross the full spectrum of combat and humanitarian missions. The IndianAir Force currently has 15 Chinook helicopters on order,” the statementsaid.
