ISLAMABAD – A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on States andFrontier Regions was held at Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday withSenator Taj Muhammad Afridi in the chair.
During the meeting, the Committee was informed that the development schemesin merged districts of erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas wouldbe aligned with vision 2025 and Sustainable Development Goals targets.
The committee discussed in details the ADP 2018-2019, registration ofTemporary Displaced Persons of Khyber Agency and Directorate of Health FATA.
The committee was informed that number of initiatives are being taken tobring progress and prosperity in the merged districts of FATA.
He said that the community based micro hydel power stations would beinstalled in the merged districts for domestic purpose.
He informed that primary level education would be promoted througheducation emergency program in the tribal districts.
The committee was further informed that free texts books are being providedto students up to class 12th, adding that BS Programme would be initiatedin existing colleges.
The officials also briefed the committee about the development budget formerged areas annual development program 2018-19 is reflected in the PSDP asblock allocation in the SAFRON Division.
It was decided that an amount an amount of 24500 million rupees has beenallocated in PSDP 2018-19 for the tribal districts.
