PS 127 by elections: PPP clinches slot after 14 years

KARACHI (APP): Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) candidate, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, Thursday won the by-election for Karachi's PS-127 Malir constituency.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed result PPP's candidate Ghulam Murtaza Baloch got 21187 votes, while Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) candidate Waseem Ahmed was trailing behind with 15553 votes.

The seat of Sindh Assembly's constituency PS-127 had fallen vacant after resignation of MQM's Member of the Sindh Assembly Ashfaque Mangi.

A total 487 polling booths in 134 polling stations had been set up to facilitate 207,467 registered voters.
