Zainab Abbas, a renowned sports presenter celebrated for her efforts to foster "cultural similarities" between Pakistan and India, has reportedly departed from India due to 'safety concerns,' following accusations of making 'anti-Hindu' statements on social media.

She had been in India to cover the ICC World Cup, but her stay took an unexpected turn when an Indian lawyer lodged a complaint against her, claiming she had made derogatory remarks on social media platforms directed at India and the Hindu religion.

Zainab Abbas vehemently denies these allegations and insists that she has been unjustly singled out. Amidst the controversy, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has become entangled, with suggestions that it was unable to prevent her deportation due to perceived "Indian propaganda." Supporters close to Zainab argue that she has been wrongly accused and that her past social media activity, dating back several years, was taken out of context.

They assert that her earlier tweets were unrelated to her role as a sports presenter and should not have led to her expulsion from India. As of now, the ICC has not issued an official statement on the matter.

Currently, Zainab Abbas is situated in Dubai, away from the ongoing dispute. It is worth noting that the Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal officially filed a complaint against Zainab Abbas concerning a series of old tweets that resurfaced on X, formerly known as Twitter.

These tweets are alleged to contain content that is regarded as "anti-Hindu" in nature. The situation remains tense as debates surrounding freedom of expression and the consequences of social media posts continue to evolve in the modern world.
