*KABUL - Top Afghan Officials hint at releasing key Taliban Commander including Anas Haqqani.*
*Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish on Friday said that the Afghan government is ready to release the Taliban prisoners.*
*Prisoners release will help promote confidence-building measures and create conditions for peace negotiation talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban.*
*Earlier the media reports have revealed background contacts between US and Afghan Taliban over release of top commanders including Anas Haqqani from Haqqani Network.*
Danish said that the Taliban must show their desire for peace by reducing the scale of violence and by agreeing on a ceasefire.
Peace without the involvement of Afghans in the process is one-sided, Danish said while addressing a crowd of people gathered to mark the 12th anniversary of the death of Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, the former Minister of Commerce, Kabul MP, and head of the Economic Commission of the Wolesi Jirga, the Lower House of the Parliament.
“We are ready to release of Taliban inmates within the framework of the laws of the country, but, on the other side, a reduction in violence, implementation of a ceasefire and the start of direct peace negotiation talks are the key to boost confidence,” said Danish.
Danish meanwhile rejected the prospect for the creation of an interim government in the country.
“Speculations about an interim government push us towards new crises,” he said.
