Mirwaiz reviews arrangements for Martyrdom Week

In Occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chaired a joint meeting of Awami Action Committee, Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid and Anjuman-e-Nusratul Islam in Srinagar to finalize the programmes in connection with the Martyrdom Week commencing from16th of this month.

The Martyrdom Week is observed to pay glowing tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and the victims of Hawal massacre of 21st May,1990. He was shot dead by unidentified gunmen e in Srinagar on that day. 70 mourners were killed in Hawal area of the city when Indian troops opened fire on his funeral procession. On the same day, in 2002, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone was killed by unknown assailants when he was returning from Eidgah after addressing a public gathering.
