NAWABSHAH: General Officer Commanding (GOC) Hyderabad Major General Muhammad Ali Tuesday said that operation 'Rad-ul-Fassad' started to uproot extremism in Pakistan was progressing in a right direction to achieve positive results.
Addressing students of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University on the topic of National Security here, he said that operation Rad-ul-Fassad was aimed at complete eradication of Fassadis (mischievous elements) from the country as such elements were enemies of Pakistan, its freedom, solidarity as well as education system and students which were future of country.
"Their elimination is our priority and Pakistan Army is in action against such elements," he said adding that every citizen of the country was a soldier in war against terrorism.
Terming the youth as future of Pakistan, he said that destiny of the nation could be changed through promoting higher education.
He advised students to pay due respect to parents and teachers as they assured their future and kept themselves at the bay from extremism as education created consciousness in human being.
Earlier GOC, accompanied with Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Arshad Saleem and other officials, visited different departments of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University. Strict security was made at the occasion. (APP)
