11 housing colonies declared illegal

FAISALABAD: (APP) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has declared eleven residential schemes of the district as illegal.

A spokesman of the FDA said here on Saturday that the FDA, finding irregularities, has wrote a letter to the District Collector for not registering sale and purchase of any plot in the colonies including Sangum Town, Qadir Town, Faisal Villas, Paradise Garden, Sadhar Villas, Gulfishan Garden in Chak No.67-JB Sadhar, Ali Villas, Babul Islam in Chak No.73-JB Jhapal, Rehmat Town in Chak No.241-RB, Ali Garden in Chak Nno.66-JB and Maqbool Town in Chak No.61-JB.

He said that formal letters have also been forwarded to the Managing Director (MD) Waste and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Manager Planning and Designing Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and General Manager (GM) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to avoid from providing facilities to them.

"Under Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2001 and Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, all the housing scheme developers are bound to seek prior permission from the FDA before developing any residential scheme, but these housing colonies were developed without fulfilling legal requirements", he added.
