ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeem-Ul-Haq Friday said the opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, being an accused in corruption cases, should resign from the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Shehbaz Sharif had also used unparliamentary language against the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the floor of the House, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said during the Financial Supplementary budget 2019, it was decided that Shehbaz Sharif would speak on Sahiwal incident in the National Assembly then the Finance Minister would present the budget, but Shehbaz Sharif personally attacked the prime minister.
Naeem-ul-Haq said that Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser was not bound to issue production order of Saad Rafique. Everything would be done as per law and constitution regarding the production orders, he added.
He said three leaders of the PTI had resigned from their office merely on allegations against them and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was still investigating the cases.
