ISLAMABAD: (APP) A group of 20 deans and registrars from different higher education institutions of Pakistan would attend a Leadership Training Programme from August 10-16 at the University of Glasgow, UK.
The Programme, being organized by Learning Innovation Division of Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with the British Council of Pakistan, is designed to improve participants' strategic planning, management and leadership skills, and to enhance their capabilities by introducing management tools.
In this connection, an orientation workshop was organized here in which Shaheen Khan, Adviser (Learning Innovation) HEC briefed the participants about background of the Modern University Governance Programme and requested all the participants to ensure cascading of the programme in their respective institutions after returning from UK.
The chief guest Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC delivered a keynote address on Leadership and Management Skills.
He stressed the need to strengthen relationship between UK's education sector and Pakistani universities.
The participants discussed their role and relationship with the Higher Education Commission and narrated their institutions' vision, mission, strategic planning framework and expectations from HEC and its partner organizations.
