*ISLAMABAD: The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with law enforcement agencies to stop financial aid for terrorism activities.*
The MoU was signed by the institutions including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), and National Accountability Bureau. The counter terrorism departments of all provinces were also made part of the MoU.
According to NACTA, the agreement would pave the way for effective implementation of national task force’s recommendations.
“All institutions will ensure cooperation under the anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism acts.”
The NACTA statement said the MoU would help strengthening its cooperation with all law enforcement agencies.
A day ago, Annual report of the National Counter Terrorism Authority Pakistan (NACTA) was released, stating at least 517 people died across the country last year in terror-related incidents.
Pakistan has witnessed significant cut in terrorism incidents during 2018, the NACTA report said. NACTA has on Sunday submitted its report to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
