ISLAMABAD – Legendry Skipper Wasim Akram to be given important position inPakistan Cricket Board.
Former cricket team skipper Wasim Akram to take charge as the chairman ofthe cricket committee as he is “a strong candidate for the job”, accordingto PCB sources.
Following the resignation of Wasim Khan on Sunday, it has been said thatthe senior members of the board will approach Akram, who is currently amember of the cricket committee, in this regard.
According to sources, the PCB officials will be taking a decision in thenext 15 days following a discussion with other former cricketers and othercommittee members before the Bangladesh series.

Meanwhile, Khan, who will now only be a member of the committee, has saidthat the post would be best held by a former cricketer. “There should beautonomy and the chairman should be independent,” he said.
