ISLAMABAD – A high-level Turkish delegation is set to visit Pakistan thisweek to help advance ongoing ceasefire negotiations between Pakistan andAfghanistan.
According to sources, the Turkish government is actively working tofacilitate dialogue between Islamabad and Kabul with the goal of achievinga durable peace deal in the region.
“Turkey stands ready to assist both Pakistan and Afghanistan in theirpursuit of lasting stability and prosperity,” Erdogan said in a statementto the media in Ankara.
The delegation, comprising senior diplomats and security officials, willhold meetings with Pakistani leadership and officials involved in regionalpeace and security affairs. The visit is expected to focus on easingcross-border tensions, improving communication channels, and supportingreconciliation efforts aimed at ending years of conflict and mistrustbetween the two neighboring countries.
Observers say Ankara’s involvement reflects Turkey’s growing diplomaticrole in South Asia and its long-standing ties with both Pakistan andAfghanistan.
