NEW DELHI – Salman Khan surrenders before extremist Hindus pressure, givesa snub to Pakistani singer song.
Salman Khan’s *Dabangg 3* has dropped the song of the Pakistani singerRahat Fateh Ali Khan over pressure from the Hindu extremist. Rahat FatehAli Khan recorded a track for the movie but “the tensions then increasedbetween India and Pakistan has forced the movie makers to drop the song.
An unofficial decision was taken that the industry should stop working withsingers from across the border. Since Rahat sahab is a Pakistani, Salmanand the entire team decided to drop his voice and replace it with that ofanother singer.”
Images got in touch with RFAK’s producer and global promoter Salman Ahmedwho explained that, “Basically two songs were recorded for *Dabangg*.Everyone wanted the songs and they’re really good.”
“This song ‘Naina’ is lovely and everyone misses the fact that Rahatsahab’s version couldn’t go on… But at the end of the day of course hehas to see the interests of his country, so I don’t think the artist haschoices there given the circumstances.”
The Federation Of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has given adirective that, “no Indian artist/singer/dancer/anchor/performer and lastbut not least, promoter would work with [Pakistani] nationals and[Pakistani] artists in view of the current alarming situation between thetwo countries.”
FWICE has previously sent notices to Indian artistslink and promoters for participating ororganising events that feature Pakistani artists or nationals, including aRFAK concert link, Images Dawn hasreported.
