President Gustavo Petro of the South American country Colombia has statedthat the only path for Israeli children to sleep peacefully is forPalestinian children to do the same.
In a statement on social media, President Gustavo Petro emphasized thatpeace and tranquility for Palestinian children can only be achieved throughan international agreement that respects the rights of both parties andupholds international law.
He also shared images of several Palestinian children who lost their livesat the hands of Israel and expressed that these children were killed due tothe unlawful occupation of their land.
President Petro further mentioned that at a very young age, he studied theIsrael-Palestine conflict, and he is familiar with the injustices faced byPalestinian refugees since 1948, much like he knows about the injusticessuffered by Jews in Europe at the hands of the Nazis in 1933.

He stated that if he had been in Germany in 1933, he would have fought forthe Jews, and if he had lived in Palestine in 1948, he would have foughtfor the Palestinians.
He also shared a documentary film that sheds light on the challenges andissues faced by the Palestinian people.
