South Australia Jake Fraser-McGurk broke the world record of former SouthAfrican captain Abraham de Villiers by scoring the fastest One DayInternational (ODI) century.
During Australia’s List A tournament, the Marsh Cup, 21-year-old JakeFraser-McGurk scored a century off 29 balls, breaking Abraham de Villiers’world record for the fastest century in List A matches.
De Villiers had previously set the record in 2015 by scoring a century off31 balls. Fraser-McGurk had already made an impact in 2019 when he scoredhalf-centuries in both Sheffield Shield and One Day Cup for Victoria atjust 17 years of age.
It’s important to note that in the Marsh Cup match, Tasmania achievedvictory against South Australia by a margin of 37 runs.
