*ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday suspendedthe decision of appointment of the new IGP Punjab.*
*ECP took strong notice of the removal of Muhammad Tahir as InspectorGeneral of Police for Punjab (IGP) and appointment of Amjad Javed Saleemias his replacement.*
Taking strong exception to the change of the Punjab police’s command justdays before the crucial by-polls , the commission directed the Punjab chiefsecretary to come up with an explanation.
It said it had issued a clear code of conduct for October 14 by-polls andimposed a ban on the transfer and postings of top-ranking officials.
