*BEIJING – China has responded over the inclusion of Saudi Arabia in theChina Pakistan Economic Corridor project.*
*China termed Saudi Arabia’s participation as a third party in themulti-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project to bea ‘positive factor.’*
“CPEC is an important project under the Belt and Road. Since the Belt andRoad Initiative was put forward five years ago, the Chinese side has beenfollowing the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and sharedbenefits, which also applies to the CPEC,” said Chinese Foreign Ministryspokesman Lu Kang while responding to Pakistan’s invitation to the Saudisto invest in the bilateral development project, on Monday.

“Such cooperation for development has always been an open, transparent andaboveboard process. On the basis of wide consultation, if any other partycan contribute to better interconnectivity, development and prosperity ofthis region, this surely makes a positive factor,” added Lu Kang.
