BEIJING – China has urged the United States to stop actions damaging itsrights and interests and follow the path of cooperation rather thanconfrontation.
In a meeting with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, director ofthe Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party ofChina Central Committee Yang Jiechi said the current China-U.S. ties are ata critical phase.
He said to guarantee bilateral relations the two countries should properlyhandle differences on the basis of mutual respect and expand pragmaticcooperation.
